Position Summary:
- This individual plans, writes, illustrates, and releases assigned documents (following the published standards) working with Product Management, Technical Writers, Design Engineers and Service Engineers.
Essential Functions:
- Applies existing education and work skills to the development and support of Technical Documents for hardware products. Specific duties include:
- Researches, writes, distributes document drafts for review.
- Attends product meetings, as required.
- Provides scheduled status reports, as required.
- Develops technical illustrators, as required.
- Prepares illustrations for technical publications and desktops using current methods and tools.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- An associate's degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism or Engineering.
- A minimum of four years' experience as a technical writer.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills:
- Background or training in Electronics or Electromechanical Technology.
- Experience in using Arbortext XML editor is a plus but not required.
- Experience in using ST4 editor is a plus but not required.
- Working knowledge in using Visio, Isodraw, CorelDraw, and Photoshop is a plus but not required
