Norfolk Iron & Metal is seeking a motivated Safety/ISO Coordinator who is passionate about workplace safety, employee training, and continuous improvement. This position plays a key role in maintaining a strong safety culture while supporting our ISO and Quality Management Systems across multiple facilities.

What You'll Do Safety Responsibilities
  • Champion a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate and maintain the Norfolk Iron & Metal Safety Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation and coordinate ongoing safety training and refresher courses.
  • Audit warehouse safety training to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate employee engagement through safety committees, meetings, and safety initiatives.
  • Manage hazard identification and reporting processes while tracking corrective actions to completion.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and injuries, perform root cause analyses, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Keep Branch Leadership informed of safety performance, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, behavioral observations, and facility audits.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to address safety concerns, policy violations, and accident prevention.
