Main Purpose of the Role:
This position performs Logistics, Operations and Customer Service Support to our customers and agents.
Overall duties include handling IMPORT / EXPORT bookings and documentation for both AIR and OCEAN, AES
filing, Shipping Instructions, Draft BL's, export door moves, LTL, send pre-alert documents to destination,
Arrival Notice, AMS, ISF and customs clearance, cargo release, import door moves, demurrage and detention.
Billing and invoicing, vetting vendors costs.
A self-motivated individual, who supports all day-to-day activities.
Main Tasks:
Coordinates with origin agents.
Receives AMS Templates, ISF Templates, and Pre-alert documents from overseas agents.
Adds files to system.
Monitors ETA.
Communicates with consignees.
Prepares Arrival Notice and Invoice to customers.
Coordinate Customs Clearance with Brokers.
Collects charges from consignee.
Coordinates cargo releases with internal accounting team and carriers.
Coordinates door deliveries (if contracted).
Posts Costs (bills) to pay vendors.
Manages demurrage and detention with customers and carriers.
Ensures compliance in U.S. import cycle for both AIR and OCEAN.
EXPORT
(AIR/OCEAN)
Manages booking inquiries from customers and agents.
Coordinates with shippers.
Request bookings from carriers (AIR/OCEAN).
Adds files to system.
Prepares House Bookings and send to customers.
Receives Shipping Instructions.
Files AES/EEI to CBP.
Submits VGM & SOLAS.
Submits SI to Carriers.
Prepare export cargo documentation for warehouses, carriers.
Issues Draft BL's and seeks approval from customers.
Confirm Cargo details to carriers.
Coordinate BL releases.
Send pre-alerts to customers and destination agents.
Coordinates with destination agents.
Issues invoices and ensure collection.
Posts costs (bills) to pay vendors.
Ensures compliance in U.S. export cycle for both AIR and OCEAN
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
College Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Commerce, or related field (preferred).
3-year experience in a Freight Forwarding company in Customer Service, Logistics and/or Operations roles.
MS Office Proficiency.
Magaya Software knowledge (required).
E2Open Software knowledge (preferred).
Customs Regulations Knowledge for IMPORT and EXPORT in both AIR and OCEAN.
STA or similar / relevant TSA clearance.
HAZMAT training certifications (preferred).
IATA training certifications.
