Primary Responsibilities:
Set-up room service carts with food and beverage orders and deliver to guest rooms. Insure that the food and beverages are served with the proper garnishes, utensils and condiments. Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, personalizing the service according to procedures and standards. Responsible for the daily maintenance of china, glassware, silverware and linen. Retrieve carts and trays from guest rooms, corridors or housekeeping closets. Answer telephone and take room service orders when needed. Does side duties, keep equipment and work area clean and tidy.
Essential Duties:
  • Check all food and beverage items, garnishes and condiments, etc. to insure that the order is correct, fresh and properly prepared and presented.
  • Ensure china, glassware, flatware and linen are clean and in proper conditions to be used for service.
  • Deliver food and beverage in a timely manner, greet guests in a warm and friend manner, personalizing the service.
  • Set-up food and beverage orders according to standards; present checks according to procedures.
  • Does follow-up service in picking up orders from rooms; retrieve dirty dishes and trays.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the carts, trays and equipment.
  • Perform side duties; keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Transport dirty dishes, glassware, linen, etc. to dishwashing area.
  • Properly secure all areas as required.
  • Deliver resort or group amenities.
  • Report any unauthorized or suspicious persons on guest room floors to security.

Other Duties:
  • Answer telephone and take food and beverage orders if needed.
  • Maintain the par stock inventory of all items.
  • Pick-up and stock linen and other supplies.

Working Conditions:
  • Indoors in the room service department
  • Outdoors, transporting the food from the kitchen to the guest room.

Work Hours:
  • Ability to work hours designated by the restaurant manager. Room Service is available 16 to 24 hours per day.
  • May be scheduled more than 40 hours or 5 days in a week, depending upon business and available staffing.
  • Days off may vary.

Equipment Use:
  • Ability to use the resort's POS system to relieve Room Service Captain
  • Able to use a telephone to take food and beverage orders.
  • Coffee makers, toasters, room service cart, wine key

Mental and Physical Demands:
  • Able to stand and walk during most of shift.
  • Able push and pull room service cart with food and beverage.
  • Able to carry trays with up to 10 lbs

Communication Demands:
  • Must have the ability to communicate verbally with guests.
  • Ability to communicate over the phone.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Department of Health TB test clearance.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverage.
