Job description

Overview Stellar Virtual seeks a passionate and certified Elementary Teacher to join our team. This remote position will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction to students in grades K-5 through our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of elementary education best practices, excellent communication and technology skills, and a passion for creating a positive and interactive online learning environment.

Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, assessment, individualized support, and collaboration to ensure student success. Deliver engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with the Iowa Academic Standards for Elementary Education (K-5) Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, assistive technologies, and accommodations to support student learning and engagement Collaborate with general education teachers to provide effective coโ€teaching strategies and ensure accessibility of the general education curriculum Implement the Stellar Virtual elementary curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs Develop and administer ageโ€appropriate formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and inform instruction Analyze student data to identify learning strengths and areas for growth, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the elementary curriculum and resources Support onโ€site testing events periodically throughout the year (required) Participate in virtual professional development and collaborate with colleagues on online teaching best practices Work collaboratively with student support services (e.g., counselors, special education) to address student needs Attend virtual staff meetings and contribute to the overall success of Stellar Virtual Position Details Reporting Manager: Principal, Iowa Status: Salary, Exempt Type: Regular, Fullโ€Time (12 Months) Program: Iowa Virtual Schools Knowledge, Skills & Attributes Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level Demonstrated experience in utilizing online learning platforms and elementary educational technology tools Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and timeโ€management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment Passion for working with young learners and fostering their academic and socialโ€emotional development Residency in the state of Iowa is required Education & Certification Requirements A bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field A valid Iowa teaching license with an endorsement in Elementary Education (Kโ€6) or equivalent Possession or willingness to gain PKโ€12 Talented & Gifted Endorsement Benefits & Incentives (Fullโ€Time Only) Competitive vacation and paid time off plans Comprehensive medical (HMO, HDHP, and PPO), dental, and vision plans with varying coverage for employees and their families, with options available in all states, including a highโ€deductible health plan (HDHP) option 401(k) retirement plan (preโ€ and postโ€tax options) with matching contribution up to 3% after one year of employment Additional supplemental disability, life, critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident, legal aid, and ID theft protection plans Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) Two paid closure weeks each year (weeks of July 4 and December 25) 10 companyโ€paid holidays Employment "Atโ€Will" Statement For Wโ€2 employment, Stellar Virtual is an atโ€will employer.
