Qorvo Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer, working within in a team environment, to provide engineering, design, and support for facilities operations and manufacturing. The Electrical Engineer also provides troubleshooting for the following systems site wide: electrical substation, switchgear, primary power distribution, building power, lighting, UPS, Motor Control Centers, VFD's and Generator.

Additional Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Evaluate existing electrical elements on-site for safety and integrity and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems including transformers, low voltage substations, generators, and UPS systems, ability to review and challenge cost estimates, budgets and ROI analysis.
  • Knowledge of the latest NEC codes, including life safety and building code, with ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support sustainability goals through implementation of energy reduction projects
  • Ownership of electrical operations and associated distribution system ensuring quality and consistency of the maintenance of the overall electrical system
  • Collaboration and management of on-site electrical contractors and Transmission & Distribution Service Provider
  • Troubleshoot electrical system problems, conduct breaker coordination and arc flash studies, track electrical load and capacity
  • Drive power quality improvement initiatives to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savings
  • Track, trend and analyze electrical system usage 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer of Mechanical Engineering with Electrical Engineering experience/coursework
  • 5+ years electrical engineering experience supporting to include design and facilities operations support in a manufacturing setting.
