Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Project Controls Specialist. As a Project Controls Professional, you will apply schedule, cost control, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced design and construction environment. The role provides project controls expertise to improve program delivery and may include managing staff. The position supports program efforts through coordination with program management staff.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Leading internal project management and project forecasting.
  • Developing and implementing project controls standards and procedures and monitoring compliance.
  • Developing task order expenditure forecasts.
  • Representing internal project controls tasks in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and others.
  • Preparing reports outlining the program/project financial position.
  • Providing QA/QC of task order preparation
  • Providing QA/QC of monthly budget forecasts and preparing monthly ETC updates.
  • Providing QA/QC of task order invoice preparation
  • Providing support to subcontract management team
  • Supporting maintenance of the multi-year baseline budget.
  • Tracking program expenditures.
  • Supporting preparation of internal and external Program Status Reports.
  • Coordinating directly with clients to resolve invoicing or contracting issues.
  • Communicating areas of concern to Program Leadership.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Understanding of project control concepts and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to identify developing technical problems and initiate corrective actions.
  • Experience analyzing financial data, cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Experience with cost management services including planning, earned value, forecasting, reporting, cash-flow maintenance, and change management.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling systems and document control systems.
  • Ability to check work for accuracy, manage time, and meet project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to collaborate in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thinking.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working in virtual collaborative environments and on complex multi-discipline capital programs.
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial analysis, budget management, and/or project cost

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$117,800.00 - $176,800.00 Annually
• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas-$126,400.00 - $189,600.00 Annually
• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP)-$134,900.00 - $202,500.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
