Summary
Manages a project team and has direct responsibility for management and execution of the pre-planning and activation of projects.
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Lead project management by performing activities within PMI’s “initiating”, “planning”, “executing”, “monitoring and controlling” and “closing” process groups.
  • Manages a project team to include multiple partners and subcontractors.
  • Establish and maintain work processes.
  • Provide all necessary submittal deliverables.
  • Create, analyze and maintain project baseline schedules and master integrated schedules based on building construction documents and input from project team.
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate all activities with the various stakeholders of the project delivery team.
  • Maintain awareness of all aspects of project progress. Forecast and prioritize efforts and identify resources to accomplish tasks.
  • Manage a project budget including project contingency budgets.
  • Ensure billing and invoicing are accurate, synchronized and coordinated with the customer. Review payment applications to validate progress claimed and ensure contract compliance.
  • Evaluate project performance with respect to cost control and change management.
  • Coordinate, schedule, facilitate and attend meetings during the project phases and produce meeting minutes with action items.
  • Provide guidance to the customer regarding overall schedule, other contractor’s impacts to the schedule and critical timelines/milestones.
  • Review project trend reports and provide recommendations for solutions (courses of action) to the client.
  • Assist with development and review of project estimates. Review will include analysis of scope definition, inclusions and exclusions, unit rates, subcontractor costs, fees and markups, and indirect costs including general conditions.
  • Manage subcontracts including: make/buy analysis, writing statements of work (SOW), T amp;M management, claims management.
  • Support the Project Management Office (PMO) in creating lessons learned and developing or refining its processes.
  • Prepare change order documentation to include draft contract language amendments, pricing, milestones, and facilitate execution documents.
  • Evaluate subcontract procurement plan, track performance against target dates.
  • Perform monthly Executive Status Report (ESR) for management.
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and with a team within a virtual environment.
  • Strong administrative skills are required, including ability to use standard applications including BluePoint, SharePoint, Visio, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Must have the ability to step in and run a complex healthcare IOT amp;A project, or similar project, at any point in the project life cycle.
  • Ability to interact with clients, as well as team leads for the project assigned to.
  • Must have working knowledge of earned value management systems.
  • Must to flexible to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary when project necessitates the need.
  • Must be a self starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability for critical thinking.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, business management or related field.
  • Five years full time experience in project management with active PMP certification OR ten years full time experience in project management with willingness to successfully obtain PMP within 1 year of employment, required.
  • Three years experience on relevant federal healthcare IO projects, preferred.
  • Supervisory experience with the ability to manage an office of 10+ professionals.
