Use your people skills and desire to learn about the financial services industry to make a difference at Fidelity. Join our Investment Sales Development Program (ISDP), a dynamic career development program where you will make a meaningful impact by working directly with financial advisors as part of the Fidelity Institutional (FI) Intermediary Investment Client Group team.
You will begin your journey as an Investment Sales Associate (ISA) where you will start to build your skills and product knowledge within a supportive high-energy and collaborative team environment. Throughout the 12-18-month duration, you will receive continual support and guidance to attain required securities licenses (Series 7 & 63), product knowledge, and relationship-building skills as you work toward developing a successful sales career at Fidelity.
The Qualities We're Looking For

  • Commitment to growing your technical knowledge of the financial industry
  • Passion for capital markets and investment products
  • Aptitude and dedication for continuous learning and self-improvement
  • Team player, confident, and self-motivated
  • Excellent communicator, excited to engage clients
  • Appreciate the challenge of working in a goal and results-oriented environment

The Purpose of Your Role
As an Investment Sales Associate (ISA) your primary responsibility will be consulting with financial advisor clients via phone and video conference to provide valuable market insights, investment product overviews, and portfolio construction ideas that will help financial advisors achieve their clients' financial goals.

The Investment Sales Development Program is a multi-year career development program with three distinct phases to help you grow your foundational knowledge of the financial industry while developing critical sales skills. In each phase, you will be working with our intermediary clients (financial advisors) to influence the sale of our investment products. As you develop your skill sets, you will earn the opportunity to interview for merit-based promotions, based on how well you demonstrate core competencies.
The three phases within the ISDP include:
1) Licensing & Training - Master the essentials and support financial advisor investment product inquiries.
2) Client Engagement - Initiate new client relationships and uncover sales opportunities.
3) Territory Ownership - Collaborate with an external sales partner to drive investment product sales.
Your career path begins as an Investment Sales Associate (ISA) and progresses to Regional Investment Consultant (RIC) and Senior Regional Investment Consultant (Sr. RIC). The journey can ultimately lead you to a leadership role or one where you are responsible for sales within your own assigned territory. At Fidelity, you'll find opportunities to grow your career along a path that aligns with your goals.
The Skills You Bring
  • Strong communication skills
  • Curiosity, a learner mindset, and the drive to develop an extensive skill set
  • Ability to develop technical depth in financial markets and investment products
  • Contributing member of a competitive, collaborative, and energized team
  • Organized, with ability to multitask, prioritize, and adjust to change
  • Proven capability to be proactive and demonstrate initiative
  • Receptive to feedback and coaching
  • Thrive in a team-based sales environment
  • Take initiative and strive to exceed expectations

The Value You Deliver
  • You provide valuable market insights, consult on portfolio construction, and leverage investment product expertise to positively influence financial advisors helping their clients achieve financial independence
  • You support our financial advisor clients in the growth and impact of their financial wellness planning and advisory practices
  • Throughout your time with our sales development program, you will have significant opportunity to lead, mentor, be an ally, and support our culture of inclusivity
