Job Description
KENTECH is seeking a Social Media Investigations Investigative Analyst who is detail-driven, internet-savvy, and confident managing investigative work with limited oversight. In this role, you will conduct fact-based social media and online presence investigations, identify inconsistencies and potential risk indicators, and produce clear, well-written reports that meet quality and compliance expectations. You will also help improve workflow by staying organized, communicating early, and flagging issues before they become larger concerns.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct impartial, fact-based social media and online presence investigations in accordance with internal standards and client requirements.
  • Review applicant information, source documentation, and online identifiers to support accurate subject matching and digital profile analysis.
  • Perform advanced internet research across social media platforms, search engines, public websites, forums, blogs, and other online sources.
  • Identify discrepancies, red flags, concerning online behavior, and relevant patterns across publicly available digital content.
  • Validate identity and profile linkage using names, usernames, locations, photos, biographical details, and other available data points.
  • Document findings in a clear, objective, and legally defensible manner, following internal guidelines and client-specific requirements.
  • Manage multiple cases at once while maintaining productivity, quality, and deadline expectations without repeated follow-up.
  • Escalate complex findings, uncertain matches, or high-risk content to leads or internal partners in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proactive communication with leads and team members regarding case status, obstacles, and trends.
  • Contribute to process improvements by sharing recurring issues, workflow suggestions, and practical recommendations.
  • Stay current on platform changes, search techniques, and evolving digital research methods relevant to online investigations.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree required, Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, Paralegal, Journalism, Political Science, Communications, Cybersecurity, or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience in investigative, research, compliance, legal, social media review, online moderation, intelligence gathering, or document-heavy work.
  • Strong written communication skills, including editing and report-quality writing.
  • Strong internet research skills and the ability to navigate multiple online platforms and tools efficiently.
  • Comfort working in systems and learning new tools quickly in a tech-forward environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to apply policy and investigative standards consistently when reviewing publicly available online content.
  • Must be able to pass security clearance to obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC), or already have one.
  • Must be willing to complete a drug test.
Preferred

  • Experience with social media investigations, OSINT, digital footprint research, or online due diligence.
  • Experience reviewing publicly available online content for risk indicators, behavioral concerns, or policy-related issues.
  • Experience working in regulated, government, legal, compliance-driven, or background screening environments.
  • Familiarity with identity verification, public records research, or background screening workflows.
