WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Inventory & Technical Operations Specialist is responsible for managing inventory assets across project sites, ensuring accurate tracking, chain of custody compliance, and inventory variance monitoring. This role serves as the primary steward of equipment and materials throughout the project lifecycle. When inventory-related activities are reduced, the position provides operational, technical, and analytical support to project teams, including inventory reporting, asset analysis, and field technology support.
This position requires regular travel to project locations to oversee inventory processes, conduct audits, and support project execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and asset tracking systems.
  • Receive, store, issue, and reconcile project equipment and materials.
  • Establish and maintain chain of custody documentation for all assigned assets.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts, cycle counts, and physical audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Monitor inventory levels and provide recommendations for replenishment and allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Prepare inventory reports, dashboards, and status updates for project leadership.

Asset Control & Chain of Custody
  • Manage asset accountability throughout transportation, deployment, storage, and recovery.
  • Document transfers, assignments, and asset movements.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and supporting documentation.
  • Support asset recovery initiatives and disposition activities.

Inventory Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze inventory trends, usage patterns, and variance data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Develop reports and metrics related to asset utilization and inventory performance.
  • Support forecasting and planning activities for upcoming projects.

Technical & Project Support
  • Provide technical and operational support during project deployments when inventory responsibilities allow.
  • Assist with equipment setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and logistics coordination.
  • Support project teams with documentation, asset management systems, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Operations, IT, and Project Management teams to ensure successful project execution.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • 2+ years of inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, asset management, or related experience.
  • Experience maintaining inventory control systems and asset tracking records.
  • Strong understanding of chain of custody and inventory accountability practices.
  • Experience conducting inventory audits and variance investigations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently to project locations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to transport equipment as needed.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
  • Experience supporting technology, telecommunications, construction, infrastructure, or field operations projects.
  • Experience with inventory management software, asset tracking systems, or ERP platforms.
  • Technical troubleshooting or field support experience.
  • Experience analyzing inventory data and preparing operational reports.

Travel Requirements
  • Travel up to 50-75% based on project schedules and business needs.
  • Ability to work at project sites, warehouses, and field locations for extended periods.
