Job description

Purpose
The Inventory & Support Specialist provides administrative, inventory and technical support for the Area Management Team and Test Conductors working in such areas as sensing and perception testing and triage. This will be 80% of the primary role. Testing Support is 20% of the position requiring cross-training as an Autonomous Specialist to assist when there is down time with primary role as Inventory Specialist to support this area of test driving.
Essential Functions*
• Provide support for the monitoring, auditing, and maintaining of all TRC owned and customer owned equipment for the Waymo team.
• Update and maintain all documentation related to inventory items.
• Collaborate with Test Conductors, Test Engineers, CCMOS, and the Area Management Team to create, prepare, maintain and organize all equipment to meet Waymo's Service Levels.
• Support and own Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) documentation.
• Support area site walks and 6S organization efforts.
• Support testing teams with supplies and equipment in the field.
• Support the maintaining of training tracking documents for the entire team.
• Read vehicle test plans and follow written and/or verbal test procedures
• Operate autonomous vehicles running proprietary software and hardware for structured testing in dynamic traffic conditions
• Follow safe work practices and safely operate autonomous vehicles
• Maintain current knowledge and adherence to all operating policies, procedures, and directives, including thorough knowledge of facility operating guidelines
• Communicate to control operations through a hand-held radio
• Complete daily report, document procedures and test, and provide concise written and oral feedback to the engineering teams
• Monitor software systems with constant focus recognize issues in software and testing, troubleshoot vehicle and test execution issues with guidance and escalate accordingly
• Consistently demonstrate situational awareness and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment
• Represent the team and drive creation or improvements in cross function process
• Communicate and work cross-functionally with various teams to maintain proper software systems operation
• Evaluate the real-world performance of the self-driving system
• Ability to train other vehicle and software operators

• Support with pickup/drop off of test units to dealerships and Tech Ops Garage.
• Assist with Aux Car and Test Unit cleaning.
• New hire onboarding support (as needed).

• Support quarterly newsletter creation.
• Follow all safety procedures; wear appropriate PPE determined by the work area or task being performed.
• Support TRC Inc.'s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts.
Qualifications
• High School diploma is required.
• Previous experience in inventory management preferred.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft and Google document suites/programs.
• Valid state DMV issued, or valid foreign country issued driver's license.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High Level organizational skills.
• Self-motivation
• 2 years of experience driving on public roads
• Must be able to successfully complete in-house driving course/examination
• Less than 6 points and/or 3 moving violations on driving record within last 3 years
• Proficiency with a laptop computer and touchscreen smartphone
• Must be able to operate comfortably in a fast-paced environment, navigate through ambiguity, and be capable of responding quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments
• Must be able to multitask multiple technologies, including communication devices and vehicle status systems
• Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their throughts
• Able to work on a team enviroment and ride as a passenger with another person operating a vehicle
• Flexibility with work hours during busy test periods. Must be willing to work overtime, evenings and weekends as needed
