Description:

Superior Metal Technologies is a full-service aluminum metal finishing company, specializing in high-performance architectural coatings, including polyvinylidene fluoride PVDF (Kynar 500), eco-friendly acid etch anodize and caustic etch anodize . We've been an aluminum metal finishing leader since 1936. Our years of customer commitment and dedication coupled with industry knowledge have allowed us to become the finisher of choice for a wide range of industries across the country.

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Inventory Control Tech with a strong focus on inventory control to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of materials within our facility, ensuring accuracy in inventory levels, and maintaining a high standard of safety and organization. This role is critical in supporting our production operations and will require a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

- Material Handling: Safely and efficiently transport materials within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Load and unload materials from trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Check in and verify Trim shipments then place into locations in warehouse. Communicate with Paint & Inventory Manager for daily orders needed pulling for processing. Read & Understand the blue travelers and die drawings for movement of material. Pull extrusion orders and communicate with pretreat on availability. Notification of discrepancy of materials (damage, shortages, etc.).

- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy and consistency. Update inventory management systems with material receipts, usages, and stock adjustments. Assist in the identification and resolution of discrepancies in inventory records. Keep warehouse/back patio organized and clean. Unload/load trucks with crane. Filling out receivers, discrepancy paperwork and pictures.

- Self-Motivation & Initiative: Proactively seek improvements in material handling processes and inventory management practices. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.

- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the production team to coordinate material needs and ensure a seamless flow of operations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory status and material shortages. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for optimizing inventory control and material handling processes.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus. Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role, preferably within the metal fabrication or manufacturing industry.

-Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

-Proficient in using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) and basic computer skills (e.g., inventory management software).

- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks repeatedly throughout the day.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Strong problem-solving abilities and a self-motivated mindset.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to position self to move metal objects for treatment or packing.

- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. Must be able to detect slight differences in various finishes.

- Tolerate working in an environment that may be hot or cold depending on the season and will expose you to loud sounds, dust, fumes and solvents.
