Job Title: Inventory Coordinator (Cycle Counter)

Job Description

The Inventory Coordinator (Cycle Counter) is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels through scheduled cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities. This role supports warehouse and manufacturing operations by identifying inventory discrepancies, investigating root causes, and ensuring that system records consistently match physical stock. The Inventory Coordinator collaborates closely with warehouse, production, receiving, and shipping teams to uphold high standards of inventory integrity and support efficient material flow.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts in accordance with established inventory control procedures.
  • Verify inventory quantities and storage locations through physical counts and comparison with ERP/WMS system data.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and variances, document findings, and report root causes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support inventory reconciliation activities between physical inventory and ERP/WMS or other inventory management systems.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, receiving, and shipping departments to resolve inventory issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with annual physical inventories and support internal and external inventory audit activities.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and recommend process improvements to enhance inventory integrity and efficiency.
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are entered accurately and in a timely manner into company systems.
  • Maintain organized inventory locations and support proper material identification and labeling practices.
  • Follow all company safety policies, inventory control procedures, and operational guidelines at all times.
  • Support general warehouse operations, including material handling, picking, packing, loading, and packaging as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely when required, in compliance with safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse operations, or closely related inventory functions.
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP, WMS, or other inventory management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in counting, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to inventory counts, variances, and reconciliations.
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with general labor tasks, material handling, picking, packing, loading, and packaging.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, following all safety protocols.
  • Solid understanding of inventory audits and inventory accuracy best practices.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse setting that can be loud and hot, with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) worn at all times. The position involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods during a shift. You must be able to hear alarms and signals and communicate effectively in a noisy environment. Work areas may expose you to hot and cold temperatures depending on production zones and seasonal conditions, with moderate to high noise levels where hearing protection may be required. You may encounter welding fumes, dust, and airborne particles, making proper respiratory protection and ventilation essential. Tasks are performed in well-lit areas, sometimes requiring supplemental task lighting, on uneven, metal, or grating surfaces, with occasional climbing of ladders or working at elevated positions. PPE such as welding helmets, gloves, protective clothing, and other safety gear is required in accordance with safety standards. There is exposure to sparks, molten metal, and moving machinery, and strict adherence to all safety procedures is mandatory.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
