Job description


Borsheims is seeking a full-time Inventory Associate to join our team. This role is essential in delivering our Signature Service to every customer.
The Central Receiving Associate provides essential support to internal teams by ensuring accurate and efficient processing of incoming gift merchandise. This role is responsible for receiving, verifying, and entering inventory data to maintain the integrity of Borsheims' inventory control systems. Successful individuals in this role are highly detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at researching and resolving discrepancies. They demonstrate a strong internal customer-service mindset, collaborating closely with buying, warehouse, and store teams to support smooth merchandise flow and accurate inventory levels
Job Duties
  • Receive, unpack, and process incoming merchandise accurately and efficiently
  • Verify items against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
  • Enter inventory data into systems and maintain accurate records
  • Tag, label, and route merchandise to appropriate departments or locations
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies or variances
  • Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Maintain an organized, secure inventory storage area
  • Support internal teams with inventory inquiries as needed
  • Follow all safety, security, and handling procedures

Experience and Skills
  • Previous experience in receiving, inventory, retail operations, or administrative support preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry and documentation
  • Ability to reconcile paperwork such as purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
  • Basic computer skills, including inventory systems and data entry
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to research and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Effective communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams

Essential Job Functions (list all from job description)
  • Ability to work assigned schedule on a regular basis.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to see well enough to read small print and read a computer screen and printout.
  • Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse with others in person, via telephone and paging system.
  • Ability to move about the store from department to department, get behind narrow counter areas, bend down or reach up into drawers/shelves, and to climb a ladder to retrieve files from shelves.
  • Dexterity to write in small print, operate a computer keyboard, and operate office equipment.
  • Stamina to sit for over eight hours.
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 20 lbs
