Inventory Associate - Driver

Position Overview:

 

Drivers are responsible for safely transporting team members to and from inventory events in a timely manner. This role is responsible for adhering to traffic laws and WIS driver safety requirements, as well as conducting and completing vehicle inspections, maintenance, and daily cleaning. The Driver is a critical team member at WIS, ensuring the safe transport of our associates while in turn, increasing customer satisfaction and meeting Company goals and objectives. Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Achieves established average per hour (APH) counting goals while ensuring accuracy and integrity of the data collected in all inventories worked
  • Pick up, drop off, and regularly drive rental vehicles and Company owned vehicles
  • Picks up employees from the designated meet sites on time
  • Picks up and transports additional or nearby employees in cases of short staffing
  • Safely and timely transports employees to and from inventory events, mapping out driving routes to ensure the most efficient or expedient trip
  • Fulfills miscellaneous tasks and errands to assist in meeting customer and company demands and needs; this may include running to get lunches for team members, picking up equipment needed for an event, managing shipping or pickups of equipment, etc.
  • Proactively adjusts the driving plan to the most efficient and safe route, as needed
  • Completes required vehicle inspections and cleanings in accordance with Safety and Fleet policies
  • Works closely with District Managers, Area Managers and Inventory Supervisors to promptly escalate and communicate any safety concerns, vehicle issues, employee issues, policy violations, or customer concerns
  • Builds rapport and engages professionally with all team members and coworkers
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness at all times
  • Schedules required vehicle maintenance and service appointments, ensuring they are completed timely
  • Assists with safety checks at event start up, including ladder safety inspections
  • Leads by example and demonstrates the core SPIRIT values of Service, Pride, Integrity, Results, Innovation, and Teamwork at all times

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be at least 21 years old to be a qualified van driver and must be at least 18 years old to drive a personal vehicle for business needs
  • Must possess a valid driver's license within the state of residence for a minimum of 36 consecutive months
  • A minimum of three (3) years proven driving experience
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug test and MVR check in accordance with company standards
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and how to navigate to assigned locations
  • Availability to work flexible schedules with varying hours in support of the District Manager and customer commitments, this includes very early mornings and/or late nights

Working Conditions:

 

Ability to, with or without reasonable accommodation, drive an oversized or full sized van, and frequently sit for extended periods of time. Employee may be required to drive up to 6 hours continuously. Travel may occasionally include overnight stays.
