Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Specialist maintains and promotes accuracy of retail store inventory by working and reviewing various inventory reports, conducting on demand inventory audits and communicating results with store management. This multi-function role partners with the sales floor, receiving teams and retail leadership in order to maintain inventory accuracy, promote replenishment and sales while mitigating merchandise loss and shrink for the organization. This position provides customer service support throughout the store. They perform various selling/customer service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information, assistance and direction to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintains inventory integrity and accuracy by executing on demand and prescriptive inventory cycle counts.
  • Conducts empty peg and display integrity scans within the departments and completes appropriate inventory adjustments to maintain in stocks and replenishment.
  • Investigates and reconciles all inventory variance reports including but not limited to negative on hand review, aged in transit, purchase order discrepancies, etc.
  • Reviews and distributes price change reports to department leadership. Completes inventory review and adjustments based on returned reports as needed.
  • Communicates opportunities / issues / discrepancies with Store Leadership for review and resolution.
  • Provides a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by:
    • identifying and evaluating customers' needs,
    • making product recommendations based off of this analysis, promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC and In-Store Pick-up
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Years of experience: Two

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to use System Two, RF/Gizmo devices and DOMO reporting.
  • Ability to generate and analyze inventory reporting.
  • Ability to process and organize information.
  • Ability to write reports and effectively present information from findings to management.
  • Ability to communicate with retail sales floor outfitters and leadership on price changes and inventory accuracy.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to use ladders and/or lifts
  • Regular computer work, walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
