About the Role:
The Mad Apple Burger & Billiard Co. in Appleton, WI is looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Kitchen Manager to help lead our back-of-house operations. Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily back-of-house operations and food production
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet company standards on every plate
  • Monitor food inventory, assist with ordering, and minimize waste to control food costs
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance at all times
  • Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing labor to meet business needs
  • Step in as acting Kitchen Manager during absences and high-volume service periods
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of kitchen or culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant or bar-and-grill environment preferred
  • Ability to lead a team with a positive, hands-on management style
