Job Description
The Inventory Assistant is responsible for supporting the operation of three non-chemical stockrooms located within a research-focused campus environment. This role ensures inventory is accurately maintained, supplies are readily available for researchers, and stockroom operations remain safe, organized, and efficient.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Fulfill and prepare orders based on the needs of multiple stockroom locations.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain appropriate stock quantities while minimizing excess inventory and reducing stockouts.
  • Receive, verify, and process incoming shipments.
  • Organize and stock inventory in designated storage locations.
  • Maintain orderly, clean, and safe stockroom environments.
  • Update inventory records, documentation, and related paperwork as needed.
  • Manage product returns and coordinate supplier credits when applicable.
  • Track and follow up on backordered items to ensure timely resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, internal customers, and team members through email and in-person interactions.
  • Support special projects and operational initiatives as needed.
  • Perform routine physical tasks, including stocking shelves, moving inventory, cleaning stockroom areas, and general housekeeping duties.

Qualifications
