Job description

Job Summary:
Esri is a company focused on creating positive global change through GIS technology. They are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the implementation and ongoing operation of enterprise applications and systems, working alongside senior administrators to maintain reliable services and improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Support Windows based systems in physical and virtual environments by performing installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Perform day-to-day administration of server platforms, including availability, performance, and capacity monitoring
• Partner with DevOps teams to support and improve infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency
• Develop and implement automation to streamline routine operational tasks and reduce manual effort
• Maintain security compliance through regular patching, vulnerability remediation, and adherence to corporate policies
• Provide operational reporting and metrics to leadership and participate in governance and change-management meetings
• Contribute to documentation by updating standards, procedures, runbooks, and operational processes
Qualifications:
Required:
• 1+ years of IT experience (including internships, co-ops, labs, or equivalent hands-on experience) supporting Windows endpoints and/or Windows Server
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and certificate management
• Experience with scripting and automation using one or more of the following: Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript
• Understanding of storage and resiliency concepts (SAN/NAS, backup technologies, load balancing, and clustering)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize effectively, learn quickly, and work independently with appropriate guidance; availability for occasional after-hours/on-call support as needed
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field
Preferred:
• Experience supporting a variety of server technologies (application, web, database, virtualization, storage, load balancers, and firewalls)
• Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure
• Knowledge of containers and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Relevant certifications (such as AWS, VMware, Microsoft)
• Experience with enterprise hardware and vendors (such as Dell, Cisco, NetApp)
• Operational familiarity with key AWS and Azure services (such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM)
• Exposure to evaluating tools or vendor products and sharing recommendations with the team
