Job description

Millennium Power Service is expanding and looking for a skilled Safety Relief Valve Technician to support both shop and field operations throughout the power generation and industrial sectors.
This is a hands-on position for technicians who have experience repairing, testing, and certifying pressure relief and safety valves in demanding industrial environments. The role includes significant travel to customer sites, outage support, and emergency response work. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Compensation Highlights

Primary Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, test, and calibrate industrial safety relief valves
  • Perform valve teardown, inspection, cleaning, lapping, assembly, and pressure setting
  • Support outage work, turnaround projects, and emergency service calls at customer facilities
  • Conduct both in-shop repairs and onsite field service work
  • Operate valve testing and lifting equipment safely and efficiently
  • Complete required testing documentation and repair reports
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OEM procedures, ASME standards, National Board requirements, and company safety practices
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding job progress and field conditions

Valve & Equipment Experience
Candidates should have experience working with major safety valve manufacturers such as:
  • Farris
  • Crosby
  • Consolidated

Experience with the following equipment is strongly preferred:
  • AVK lifting devices
  • EVT testing and lifting equipment

Technicians without Consolidated certifications may be eligible for manufacturer training provided by the company.
What We're Looking For
  • Prior experience as a Safety Relief Valve Technician required
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair background
  • Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and repair procedures
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments including power plants and refineries
  • Ability to travel frequently, often on short notice
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in the field
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Frequent travel throughout the year (approximately 50-70%)
  • Extended hours and weekend work during outages
  • Ability to lift tools and equipment as needed
  • Comfortable working outdoors, in confined spaces, and at elevated heights
