Leasing Agent– Migizi Property Management

Position Summary:

The Leasing Agent/Team Support is a unique position that blends an Administrative Assistant position in with assisting our Property Manager with all aspects of leasing. This person shall demonstrate a positive and professional attitude with team members, residents, prospective residents, and vendors. This will include a variety of property investments including: residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural. This is a part-time position.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides outstanding customer service to current residents, prospective residents, vendors and colleagues, in accordance with Migizi Guest Service standards and philosophies.
  2. Responds to incoming calls and provides accurate information regarding leasing inquiries, resident concerns, and maintenance/service requests. Ensure all communications are handled promptly, professionally, and in alignment with company policies.
  3. Collects lease applications ensuring all fields are completed, information requested is gathered, and perform necessary verifications in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  4. Initiates and accurately prepares and assembles rental agreement and related documents;
  5. Proactively manages lease renewals, ensuring timely distribution and execution of renewal documents. Maintain up-to-date tenant records of all lease agreements, including pet vaccination records. Ensure lease tracking spreadsheets are accurate, current, and consistently updated to reflect changes in tenant status or lease terms. Tracks and schedules annual inspections.
  6. Runs Credit Reports for SCIT Housing and prepares monthly invoices.
  7. Reconciles credit card receipts to credit card statement, including spreadsheet tracking.
  8. Tracks and ensures rental payments and security deposits are collected and entered into the rental management software.
  9. Exercises attention to detail and sounds judgment to verify whether invoices have already been entered; follow established procedures to ensure accurate and timely data entry into the accounting software, minimizing duplication and errors.
  10. Collection of laundry coins, showing properties and other day-to-day administrative functions.
  11. Assists with maintaining the Aking Holding Company website of occupied and vacant apartments.
  12. Assists with tracking and ordering of maintenance and office supplies.
  13. Assists with the on-going development, implementation, and management of an effective Marketing, Sales, Leasing, and Customer Service Strategy to ensure the Tribe maintains maximum occupancy of properties.
  1. All other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Safety Hazards:

Frequent use of hands, wrist, and fingers associated with computer operation. Occasional stooping, bending, squatting, lifting of items. Walking up and down staircases. Travelling requiring vehicle operation to properties and other locations is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

A minimum of three years of experience in property leasing or a student currently enrolled in a Real Estate program.

  • Two-year’s experience with Property Management Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Pre-employment background.
  • A Valid Michigan Driver’s License and the ability to gain and maintain a Tribal Drivers License.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, basic math skills,
  • High level of accuracy in work produced.
  • Motivated self-starter, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member to resolve issues and implement improvements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred:

Real estate experience

SCIT Preference Candidate
