Job description

About Sweatpals

At Sweatpals, our mission is to help people build real connection through movement โ€” and empower the next generation of fitness entrepreneurs.

Backed by a16z Speedrun, Kevin Hart, and other world-class investors, we connect hundreds of thousands of โ€œPals,โ€ hosts, and gyms through events, memberships, and social features.

We believe working out should be joyful, social, and inclusive โ€” not just a solo grind. From run clubs and beach pilates to pickleball leagues and cold plunge socials, Sweatpals turns everyday workouts into meaningful social experiences.

Sweatpals also gives local leaders the tools to grow their fitness communities from side hustles to full-time, even million-dollar businesses. Hosts use our platform to run their business โ€” from ticketing and RSVPs to class packs and memberships.

The Role

We're hiring a Technical Implementation Manager to own the host onboarding and migration experience post-sale. You'll sit on our Success team and be the person who helps our Success Managers to get hosts from signed to live โ€” handling the technical elements while keeping the host experience smooth and human throughout.

This is a rare combination: deep technical chops and genuine client-facing ability. You'll scope and execute complex integrations, manage data migrations, debug API issues โ€” and then jump on a call with a gym owner or run club organizer and walk them through it clearly. You'll be the bridge between what our platform can do and getting hosts to actually experience it.

What Youโ€™ll Own
  • Own the technical onboarding and migratration experience for new hosts โ€” from contract signed to fully live on platform

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for hosts during onboarding, managing setup, configuration, integrations, and data migrations end-to-end

  • Build and execute host-specific integration solutions using APIs, webhooks, and scripting โ€” and communicate technical complexity clearly to non-technical stakeholders

  • Lead migration projects for hosts moving from other platforms, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption

  • Build and maintain scalable onboarding playbooks, technical documentation, and SOPs that reduce time-to-live across the team

  • Surface recurring technical blockers to Product and Engineering โ€” you're the voice of the host during implementation

  • Partner with Success Managers to ensure a clean, confident handoff once hosts are fully activated

  • Track implementation health (time-to-live, blockers, error rates) and use data to continuously improve the process

Who You Are
  • 4โ€“6+ years in a technical implementation, solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or integration engineering role โ€” ideally at a SaaS or marketplace company

  • Highly technical: fluent in APIs, webhooks, data transformation, and scripting (Python, JS, or similar); comfortable reading and writing code to solve real problems

  • Experienced with data migrations โ€” moving customer data from one platform to another cleanly, accurately, and with minimal friction for the end user

  • Equally strong in the room: you can explain a complex integration to a gym owner with zero technical background and make them feel confident, not confused

  • Strong project manager โ€” you track multiple implementations simultaneously, keep stakeholders updated, and nothing falls through the cracks

  • A self-starter who proactively spots process gaps and closes them without waiting to be asked

  • Startup-minded: scrappy, resourceful, and energized by ambiguity and fast growth

Nice to Have
  • Experience at a two-sided marketplace or platform business

  • Familiarity with fitness, wellness, or event-based industries

  • Experience building internal tooling or automation to improve implementation workflows (Zapier, Airtable, etc.)

Success Looks Like
  • Hosts go live faster โ€” time-to-first-event drops measurably under your ownership

  • Migrations are clean โ€” hosts arrive on Sweatpals with their data intact and confidence high

  • Recurring technical blockers get surfaced and eliminated, not just worked around

  • Onboarding playbooks are documented, scalable, and actually used by the team

  • Hosts feel technically supported and personally cared for โ€” not passed off to a ticket queue

Why Join Sweatpals

At Sweatpals, youโ€™ll do more than manage technical host onboarding โ€” youโ€™ll shape the future of how people find belonging through movement. If youโ€™re motivated by ownership, complexity, and meaningful impact, this is a place where your work will truly matter. We move fast, think creatively, and operate with high trust and high expectations.

Youโ€™ll thrive here if you:

  • Want real ownership, not a narrow channel or templated playbook

  • Are excited to build systems from the ground up โ€” not just optimize what someone else built

  • Want to see your work show up in real life at events, classes, in cities, and in communities all around the world.

  • Take pride in clear thinking, strong execution, and measurable outcomes

  • Are energized by smart, motivated teammates who move fast and bring their best every day

  • Care about helping people connect, feel seen, and live healthier lives

Weโ€™re still early โ€” which means your work will have outsized impact on the company, the product, and the lives of Pals and Hosts in our community. If youโ€™re excited by challenge, autonomy, and a mission with heart, youโ€™ll feel at home here.

Compensation Range: $100K - $120K
