Description

CPT is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support the Gun Weapon Systems Division (E30) at NSWC Dahlgren. This role directly supports U.S. Navy gun weapon system development, evaluation, and sustainment programs in a collaborative, mission-critical environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support systems requirements management and systems engineering design activities for E30 Gun Weapon Systems programs.
  • Assist with systems integration engineering and test and evaluation planning and execution.
  • Utilize systems engineering software tools to support documentation and requirements traceability.
  • Participate in system design reviews, working groups, and technical interchange meetings.
  • Prepare technical documentation, requirements specifications, and systems engineering artifacts.
  • Support senior engineers in systems performance analysis and trade study activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in systems engineering or related technical field.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes and tools (e.g., SysML, MBSE tools, or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Secret clearance (strongly desired); must be eligible to obtain.
  • Academic or internship experience with defense or naval systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with DoD systems engineering lifecycle processes.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Rhapsody, or similar).
