What we offer

Who you are - Consumer Loan Processor
You are a dynamic, detail oriented, intuitive person with the ability to develop relationships, build rapport and become a trusted team member. You are able to provide everyone you assist or support with a high level of service, have strong organization and multi-tasking skills, and are searching for a rewarding career where you are valued and respected.
What you'll do
  • Assists the consumer loan underwriters by entering and updating loan applications in systems to prepare them for booking. Books loans at the appropriate time.
  • Reviews the document packages that have been prepared by underwriters to prepare them for booking and quality control.
  • Keeps loan packages organized throughout the lending process.
  • Supports the indirect underwriters by preparing the approved contracts that have been submitted for funding.
  • Provides administrative support for the Consumer Loan Department by responding to routine inquiries for consumer loan account balances and payoff amounts.
  • Assists with the pulling of documents for audits or other similar requests.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Loan Processing via Meridian Link:
  • Process loan applications for consumer and vehicle loans ensuring all the required documentation is collected and accurate.
  • Review applications for accuracy and compliance, (pre-QC) that are in accordance with internal policies as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Manage loan documentation from loan origin to closing, ensuring timely updates
  • Communicate with borrowers and applicants to clarify application questions, gather information and address other concerns the borrower may have
Pre-QC/Compliance:
  • Verifies and adheres to all lending regulations whether they are federal, state, or HFCU policies.
  • Identify and escalate any irregularities or possible fraud to supervisors for review.
Communication:
  • Act as the point of contact for underwriters, applicants and MEC to facilitate smooth communication and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Work with underwriters to ensure applications are reviewed and decisioned in a timely manner
Other Responsibilities:
  • Able to process and fund Indirect loans as needed.
  • Assisting with Servicing including Titles as needed.
  • Creating, updating and maintaining all processes and procedures.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
  • Strong desire to work in a purpose-driven organization
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational, computer and member service skills.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
Physical Demands/Conditions Required:
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Equipment Used:
  • Must be able to use various types of office equipment including a computer terminal.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
