POSITION: CONSUMER LOAN PROCESSOR

CLASSIFICATION: HOURLY / NON-EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: VP, LENDING

DIRECT REPORTS: NONE – INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR

COMPENSATION: $25.00 - $30.00 DOE


PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for preparing and processing loan applications, ensuring compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and providing excellent member service.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES, INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Application Processing: Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy, verify applicant information, and gather required documentation.
  • Documentation: Prepare loan documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Communication: Communicate with members, loan officers, and other relevant parties to gather information and provide updates on loan status.
  • Compliance: Ensure all loan processing activities adhere to credit union policies, lending guidelines, and relevant regulations.
  • Data Entry & Record Keeping: Accurately input loan data into the credit union's systems, maintain organized loan files, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Funding & Disbursement: Prepare loan packages for funding and coordinate loan disbursement,
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to members throughout the loan process.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Credit Union.


Requirements:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

• Minimum of two years of experience in loan processing or a related financial field, preferably a credit union environment.

• Strong understanding of consumer lending principles, regulations, and documentation requirements.

• Proficiency in using loan processing software and other relevant computer applications.

• Knowledge of specific loan products offered by the credit union (e.g., auto loans, personal loans, etc.).

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

• Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Effective people skills, including excellent communication skills, including active listening, and providing clear direction.

• Requires the ability to communicate courteously and professionally, both in writing and verbally.

• Detail oriented, well organized and ability to prioritize and multitask.

• Computer proficiency required Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Various Credit Union systems experience preferred.
