Internship Remote Startup information

What is a remote startup internship?

A remote startup internship is a temporary position, usually for students or recent graduates, where you work for a startup company from a location outside the traditional office, often from home. These internships typically focus on flexible, project-based work in areas like marketing, software development, design, or business operations. Working remotely for a startup allows interns to gain hands-on experience, develop entrepreneurial skills, and collaborate with a small, innovative team, all while managing their own schedules. It's a great way to learn about the fast-paced startup environment and build a professional network.

What can I expect in terms of mentorship and collaboration as a remote intern at a startup?

As a remote intern at a startup, you can typically expect to work closely with a small, agile team where collaboration is highly valued. Mentorship often comes in the form of regular check-ins with your direct supervisor or team lead, as well as opportunities to participate in virtual meetings and brainstorming sessions with colleagues from various departments. Startups usually foster an open communication culture, so you'll be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and take initiative. While the fast-paced environment can be challenging, it also means you'll likely get hands-on experience and direct feedback, which can accelerate your learning and professional growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote startup intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Startup Intern, you need a strong foundation in time management, adaptability, and a willingness to learn, often supported by relevant coursework or prior internships. Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, Trello, or Google Workspace, and basic proficiency in industry-specific software are typically expected. Proactive communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills help interns stand out in dynamic, remote environments. These abilities are crucial for contributing effectively and growing professionally in the fast-paced, autonomous world of startups.

Remote Marketing Coordinator

Job description

We're hiring a Marketing Coordinator to help drive awareness, engagement, and community growth as we prepare for public launch.

Summary
  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast.

About The Role

We need someone who can own the day-to-day of our marketing machine — social scheduling, community engagement, campaign coordination, and light copywriting — while we sprint toward public launch. You'll work closely with our GTM team and have real impact on how we show up across channels.

This is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of marketing experience who wants startup exposure without the "figure it out from zero" pressure — our systems are built, we need someone to help run and improve them.

Compensation

Up to $80,000 max total annual compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional or hourly arrangements welcome.

What You'll Do in Your First 7 Days
  • You've reviewed our current marketing channels, content calendar, and campaign workflows
  • You've gotten access to our tools and started familiarizing yourself with the stack
  • You've attended your first team standup and have a feel for how we communicate and prioritize
  • You've drafted or scheduled your first round of social content
  • The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Manage social media scheduling and posting — keep our channels active and consistent across platforms
  • Coordinate campaign launches — help the team get campaigns from concept to live, on time
  • Engage with communities — monitor and participate in relevant online communities where our audience hangs out
  • Support content creation — draft social posts, email copy, and light blog content
  • Track and report on performance — pull basic metrics and flag what's working and what isn't
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 1-3 years of marketing experience (agency, in-house, freelance, or internship — all count)
  • Comfortable with social media management tools (Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, or similar)
  • Can write clear, engaging copy for social and email without heavy editing
  • Organized and self-directed — you don't need daily check-ins to stay on track
  • Strong async communicator — you document your work and flag issues proactively

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in startup or small-team environments
  • Basic analytics skills (Google Analytics, social platform insights)
  • Design skills (Canva, Figma, or similar)
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
What You're NOT
  • Not a senior strategist role — you'll have input, but this is an execution-first seat
  • Not a solo marketing department — you'll work alongside a GTM team, not replace one
  • Not a pure design role — light creative work, but we're not hiring for graphic design
Screening Questions
  1. Available Start Date? — calendar
  2. Are you comfortable with equity-heavy comp for 60 days (paid thereafter)? — Yes/No (Yes is required)
  3. Are you comfortable signing an NDA? — Yes/No (Yes is required)
  4. Best phone number to reach you? — phone field
  5. LinkedIn profile URL? — text field
  6. Are you seeking a full-time role? (No is acceptable — we welcome side gig, fractional, and contract arrangements) — Yes/No

Job Description

We're hiring a Customer Success Associate to help our early users get value and build the relationships that turn first-time users into long-term members.

We're onboarding our first wave of users — busy professionals and business owners who value their time. They don't need hand-holding, but they do need someone responsive, organized, and genuinely helpful on the other end when they have a question, hit a wall, or want to do more.

This role is part customer success, part relationship management, part "make sure nobody falls through the cracks." You'll be the human touchpoint for people who are used to working through relationships — so the bar is warmth, reliability, and follow-through, not scripted support tickets.

Compensation

Up to $75,000 max total annual compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional or hourly arrangements welcome.

What You'll Do in Your First 7 Days
  • You've reviewed the current user base and understand who our early members are and what they care about
  • You've gone through the platform yourself and can navigate it confidently
  • You've responded to your first batch of user inquiries or outreach
  • You've attended your first team meeting and understand how user feedback flows to product
  • The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Be the first point of contact for users — respond to questions, troubleshoot issues, and make sure people feel heard
  • Onboard new members — guide them through first steps, help them see the value quickly
  • Monitor user health signals — spot disengagement early and reach out before they churn
  • Relay user feedback to the product team — you're the voice of the user internally
  • Build relationships — our users value personal connection over automated support
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 1-3 years in customer success, account management, client services, or a relationship-heavy role
  • Genuinely enjoy talking to people and solving their problems
  • Strong written communication — you can write a clear, warm email without a template
  • Organized and responsive — you don't let messages sit unanswered
  • Comfortable working across time zones in a remote-first environment

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Background in sales, recruiting, or any role where you managed relationships at volume
  • Startup experience or comfort with ambiguity
What You're NOT
  • Not a support ticket jockey — this is relationship management, not queue clearing
  • Not a salesperson — you're not closing deals; you're making sure users succeed
  • Not a product manager — you'll relay feedback, but you're not making roadmap calls
