Work Environment

This role is uniquely structured to offer flexibility, with the option of remote work. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine mental health needs, using tools such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to create a comprehensive, individualized plan of care that reflects cultural competence and adapts to diverse patient demographics.
• Deliver effective outpatient therapy to individuals and families coping with the complexities of cancer diagnoses, incorporating evidence-based practices to foster healthy coping mechanisms and emotional resilience.
• Regularly evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies and interventions to ensure alignment with mental health diagnoses and patient goals.
• Document treatment records and maintain clinical information promptly and accurately using state-of-the-art electronic health record systems, adhering to regulatory standards and departmental policies.
• Develop collaborative treatment plans in partnership with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams, advocating for the patient’s needs and preferences throughout the therapeutic process.
• Facilitate connections between patients and additional support services, fostering a continuity of care and ensuring all patients have access to the resources they need for comprehensive treatment.
• Provide mentorship to interns, students, and volunteers, sharing knowledge and skills while contributing to their professional development.
• Engage in peer review and collaborate with clinical supervisors to enhance departmental practices, involving yourself in chart audits and case discussions that improve team functioning and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary client focus for this position includes individuals and families who are navigating the emotional and psychological challenges brought on by cancer diagnoses. You will work diligently to empower these patients through tailored therapy sessions, addressing their unique mental health needs and facilitating their journey towards emotional and mental well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited educational institution.
• Current and active State License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with patients experiencing cancer or other chronic illness is preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation practices is highly valued.
• Prior experience in a community health clinic or similar setting is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually, reflecting our commitment to recognizing your expertise and contributions.
