In this full-time, remote role, you will play a critical part in delivering therapeutic interventions to individuals and families impacted by cancer diagnoses, utilizing evidence-based practices to foster better mental health outcomes. This position offers the flexibility of a remote work environment while ensuring professional support and collaboration.

About the Organization

At Kennebec Behavioral Health Services, we are driven by a bold vision to transform healthcare by prioritizing compassionate, holistic care. Our commitment to enriching lives extends beyond patients to their families and the broader community. By maintaining high standards of service and utilizing innovative approaches, we aim to reduce healthcare costs while improving the wellness of those we serve. Join our mission as we strive to reinvent health care through active partnerships and dedication to quality care.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will operate in a supportive and climate-controlled remote environment while still engaging with other healthcare professionals and department members. Our virtual setting promotes flexibility and ensures that our LCSWs can conduct scheduled sessions efficiently. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with multiple stakeholders to enhance patient care while participating in virtual team meetings and consultations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and evaluations of patients, utilizing evidence-based tools such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to establish individualized treatment plans that consider each patient's unique cultural backgrounds and needs.

  • Monitor and assess patient progress continuously, implementing interventions designed to improve mental health outcomes and ensure adherence to established therapeutic goals.

  • Maintain meticulous records of treatment plans, clinical reports, and all required documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines, leveraging current technology to enhance accuracy and timeliness.

  • Collaborate actively with patients to develop comprehensive treatment strategies that reflect their needs, objectives, and preferred care pathways, fostering empowerment and accountability in their mental health journey.

  • Design treatment objectives in partnership with patients and family members, monitoring for safety and symptom reduction while working collaboratively within a healthcare team to achieve common goals.

  • Serve as a vital link between patients and additional services by coordinating referrals and creating robust partnerships with other treatment facilities and clinicians, ensuring seamless transitions of care.

  • Contribute to the professional development of others by providing guidance and education to students, interns, and volunteers, enhancing the overall capacity of our healthcare team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on individuals and families grappling with the psychological impacts of a cancer diagnosis. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, your expertise will be crucial in addressing emotional distress, fear, and the wide-ranging effects of such a diagnosis on individuals and their loved ones. You will use therapeutic interventions tailored to the patient's specific circumstances while advocating for their mental health needs within the healthcare system.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

  • Active and unrestricted state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

  • Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in social work or mental health settings, with a strong focus on individual and family therapy.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with oncology patients or within a healthcare setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic techniques and a track record of building effective treatment plans geared toward specific patient goals will enhance your candidacy for this vital role.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this full-time position is between USD 90,000 and 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience. We also offer a generous sign-on bonus, comprehensive health benefits, retirement plans, and annual personal development budgets.
