Job description

Adecco Healthcare is working with our client to hire remote Medical Coders. Candidates MUST reside in CST - preferably in Texas.

Type: 3-month contract - possibility of extension

Hours: Monday - Friday - 40 hours/week - normal business hours

Pay Rate: $19.25/hour - DOE

Certification Required: YES! Candidates MUST have coding certification required from AAPC or AHIMA Professional Coding Association (CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P etc.)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Accurate coding of the professional services (diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers) from medical records in multi setting (Outpatient /In-Patient Facilities)

  • Apply understanding of relevant medical coding subject areas to assign appropriate medical codes

  • Identify areas in clinical documentation that are unclear to incomplete and generate queries to obtain additional information

  • Utilize medical coding software programs or reference materials to identify appropriate codes

  • Apply relevant Medical Coding Reference, Federal, State and Professional guidelines to assign and record independent medical code determinations

Requirements Include:

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 3 years of coding experience

  • Candidates MUST have coding certification required from AAPC or AHIMA Professional Coding Association (CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P etc.)

  • Advanced level of knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, Modifiers & HCPCS coding classification and guidelines

  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, disease process and anatomy and physiology

  • Must be task oriented and able to meet designated deadlines and productivity standards

  • eClinical Works experience strongly preferred
