The Infrastructure Manager position is a key member of our management team who owns the delivery, high availability, and performance of our network and core infrastructure services. This role is ideal for someone who has experience providing leadership, guidance and support to a technical team and who is passionate about operational excellence.
Essential Functions
  • Manage and monitor all aspects of the IT infrastructure including virtual servers, network, wireless, voice, circuits, Microsoft core infrastructure (AD, DHCP, DNS), email, remote access, backups and data center.
  • Ensure the performance, integrity and availability of all infrastructure by implementing standard protocols, maintenance schedules, redundancy, proactive alerting and automation.
  • Manage a technical team of ten engineers and administrators and work with them to prioritize workloads, assess performance and provide appropriate training for skill/career development.
  • Analyze existing operations to find efficiencies and work with team to improve based on best practices.
  • Collaborate with Deputy IT Director to ensure alignment with vision and strategy.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT infrastructure-related services and equipment.
  • Assist with preparation and management of the IT infrastructure budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including system configurations, asset management, change logs and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Manage daily tickets, ensuring response and effective communication. Assist team as needed to ensure timely restore.
  • Deliver 90-day operational plans to share relevant information on quarterly initiatives.
  • Participate on Change Advisory Board (CAB) as a voting member and review all changes prior to submission to ensure that they are ready for review.
  • Manage problem tickets (for infrastructure), following Incident Response SOP to ensure effective communication and timely restoration of services.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical staff and manage IT infrastructure.
  • Experience improving operational efficiency, availability and reliability across different technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, ITSM, and related support/service standards.
  • Technical and practical experience of how to support infrastructure, cloud services and operations in a diverse environment with multiple departments with differing needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Candidates should have ten years of progressively responsible experience in technology as well as direct supervisory experience managing the daily activities of a technical team.
