What does internship relocation provided mean?

'Internship Relocation Provided' means that the employer will assist interns with the costs or logistics of moving to the location where the internship is based. This support can include financial reimbursement, housing assistance, or covering travel expenses. The specifics of what is provided can vary by company, so it's important to ask the employer for details. This benefit helps interns who live far from the internship site take advantage of opportunities they might otherwise not be able to pursue.

What should I expect in terms of support and adjustment when relocating for an internship with relocation assistance?

When relocating for an internship where relocation support is provided, you can typically expect assistance with logistics such as finding housing, covering travel expenses, and advice on settling into a new city. Many organizations offer an onboarding process that includes local orientation and access to resources like employee networks or mentorship programs to help you adjust quickly. It's common to face challenges like adapting to a new environment and building a social network, but most employers are prepared to guide you through these transitions. Proactively communicating your needs and questions to your HR or internship coordinator can help make your move and adjustment smoother.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Intern, you generally need a relevant educational background, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn. Familiarity with standard office software, industry-specific tools, or platforms—along with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems—is highly valued. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities help interns stand out in dynamic environments. These skills and qualities are important because they enable interns to contribute effectively, integrate into company culture, and maximize the learning experience during their placement.

Job description

San Francisco, CA · On-site (5 days) · Full-time Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 + competitive equity

About the Company

Our client is an applied-AI insurtech rebuilding the foundation of the insurance industry by automating the full claims process — intake, fraud detection, and settlement — to improve loss ratios and reduce manual work for large insurers. In under a year the team reached multi-seven-figure ARR with 50% month-over-month growth, and it raised an oversubscribed seed round from Tier 1 funds.

Founded 2025 · ~12 people (11–50) · Industry: FinTech / Insurtech (applied AI)

The Role

The client is hiring a Strategy & Operations professional to scale claims operations at one of the fastest-growing applied-AI insurtechs, working directly with the CEO to bring structure, clarity, and efficiency to how claims are handled at scale.

Requirements
  • 1–3 years in MBB consulting, investment banking, private equity, or a top-tier startup in a strategic-projects/operations role
  • Located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco (5 days on-site)
Nice to Haves
  • An MBB consultant (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) with strategic-project delivery experience, ideally 1–2 years post-undergrad
  • An investment-banking analyst at a top-tier firm with 1–2 years' tenure
  • A strategic-operations or chief-of-staff role at a top-tier startup (Series A–C, ideally vertical AI or fintech) with demonstrated 0-1 ownership
  • A strong technical or quantitative undergrad from a top program, paired with operational chops
  • An internship or co-founder signal at a startup
Why Join
  • Work directly with the CEO: own special projects and strategic initiatives from day one, with a fast track into leadership of a core business area
  • Build, don't maintain: a real 0-1 mandate to formalize claims operations — process design, hiring, workflows — as the company scales
  • An elite team and traction: multi-seven-figure ARR, 50% MoM growth, and a bench of top-quant-firm and marquee-tech engineers, AI researchers, and competition winners
Details
  • Location — San Francisco, CA
  • Work policy — On-site, 5 days/week
  • Compensation — $100,000–$150,000 + competitive equity
  • Visa sponsorship — Available (H-1B); relocation support provided
  • Employment type — Full-time
