Job description

Job Summary
RCM&D is seeking motivated students to join our nine-week 2027 summer internship program (May 31st to July 30th). This program prepares students for real-world work experience in the insurance brokerage industry through meaningful work, career development, and networking opportunities.
Interns will work in the Commercial Lines, Employee Benefits, or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) divisions in our Hunt Valley, Baltimore or DC offices. With guidance from an assigned mentor, interns will gain insurance experience, develop technical skills, and collaborate with clients, carriers, and colleagues.
Essential Functions
• Develop an understanding of key components of the insurance industry and RCM&D's business model.
• Actively participate in client presentations, carrier meetings, and team discussions.
• Use RCM&D's Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool, EPIC, to track leads, sales activities, and marketing campaigns.
• Assist with claims analysis, policy reviews, and creating claims spreadsheets.
• Learning and applying real-world risk management techniquest
• Additional job duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills
• Enrollment in a two- or four-year college/university as a junior, majoring in Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate agility, and adapt to changing priorities.
• A passion for learning and strong problem-solving skills.
• Technical aptitude with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
