In this internship program:

  • Work as part of Vanguard's investment teams including fixed income, equity, quantitative equity, investment strategy, FinTech, portfolio review, and risk management. You will work in a department that draws upon your experience and interest, as well as meets strategic business needs
  • Experience a comprehensive approach to investing that employs a range of strategies across asset classes, growing your expertise while developing a broad understanding of Vanguard's mission driven investment philosophy
  • Be part of a smaller cadre size which support opportunities focused on learning, individualized feedback, and close community connections
  • Collaborate with others and lead a project distilling complex data to uncover insights that you will present to leadership - influencing decisions that directly affect investors
  • Meet regularly with your department manager, internship program manager, assigned buddy, and key business leaders. Receive personalized coaching and mentorship

What it takes

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Open to all fields of study. Prior participants have studied Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, among many others.
  • Effective communication, analytical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability, the ability to learn quickly, and take initiative
  • Passion for investment management
  • Results oriented with the ability to lead several priorities
  • Strong technical acumen a plus, including data analytical, statistical, storytelling, and coding skills
  • A commitment to strengthening communities through your time and talent

Special Factors

  • At this time Vanguard is only considering candidates that will not now, or in the future, need sponsorship or other immigration support to obtain US work authorization
  • This program is a 10-week, full-time, paid summer internship
  • The start date for this program will be May 27th, 2026
  • Acceptance into the program is contingent upon a successful drug-screening result
