POSITION: Skills Trainer/Job Coach for Project SEARCH or Transitions -- Provide support to interns ages 18-21 to facilitate the training and integration of students with disabilities in a worksite rotation and /or competitive work environment
LOCATION: Project SEARCH at Salina Regional Health Center or Transitions at the Salina Education Center
START DATE: August '26
REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma required. Experience working with people with disabilities and/or working in the industry/business field preferred. Other qualifications include enthusiasm, decision making skills, strong oral and written communication skills, productive team member, flexible, and collaboration skill. Must be professional and organized.
DUTIES:
* Provide individualized support for student at the host business worksite rotation or competitive job which includes: job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, assistive technology, etc.* Perform specific job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities.*Train students in the areas of grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behavior as they relate to successful employment. * Communicate with Project SEARCH/TRANSTIONS instructorS to make final decisions regarding any issues that may affect student success at a worksite rotation or competitive job site. These decisions may be related to continued job coaching, fading, behavior job tasks, etc.*Attend training provided by school district personnel to become knowledgeable of strategies and current "best practices" in the field of supported employment.*Communicate effectively with program instructors, other job coaches, employers, co-workers, family members, school and agency personnel.
*Strong computer skills.
