POSITION SUMMARY

GenPro Energy Solutions is seeking motivated and safety-focused Apprentice Electricians to join our Field Operations team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build a rewarding career in the rapidly growing renewable energy industry by working alongside experienced electrical professionals on commercial and utility-scale solar projects.


As a Field Operations Technician (Apprentice Electrician), you will assist with the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems and related electrical infrastructure while developing the technical knowledge and hands-on skills required to become a licensed electrician. Through mentorship, on-the-job training, and participation in GenPro's registered Electrical Apprenticeship Program, you will gain valuable experience in a collaborative, safety-first environment.


The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, committed to quality workmanship, and thrives in a team-oriented, travel-based construction environment. Candidates must be eligible to enroll in the Company's registered Apprenticeship Program through the U.S. Department of Labor and be willing to travel extensively to project sites throughout multiple states.

PAY GRADE RANGE

Base Pay: $19.21/hour - $31.92/hour Based on Documented Electrical Hours.

Prevailing Wages: Employees assigned to projects subject to prevailing wage requirements will be compensated in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and regulations. Prevailing wage rates apply where required.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Apprenticeship & Professional Development

  • Enroll in and successfully complete the Company's approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
  • Maintain eligibility for and participate in the U.S. Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program.
  • Develop technical knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job training and classroom instruction.

Electrical Installation & Field Support

  • Assist licensed electricians with the installation, maintenance, and service of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems and related electrical equipment.
  • Perform assigned tasks under the direct supervision of a licensed electrician.
  • Install low- and medium-voltage cable, conduit, PV solar panels, racking systems, and associated equipment.
  • Assist with cable terminations, wiring installations, and basic troubleshooting using electrical drawings and project plans.
  • Support project layout, staging, and preparation for PV solar installations.

Materials & Equipment

  • Load, unload, transport, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at project sites.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment when properly trained, authorized, and assigned.

Safety & Quality

  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform work in accordance with company quality standards and project requirements.

General Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, electricians, and other field personnel to complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Travel to project sites and work extended hours as required to meet project schedules.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support project and business needs.

ELECTRICIAL APPRETICESHIP PROGRAM

GenPro Energy Solutions is committed to developing the next generation of skilled electrical professionals. Eligible employees will have the opportunity to participate in the Company's registered Electrical Apprenticeship Program, designed to provide the education, hands-on experience, and mentorship needed to progress toward journeyman electrician licensure.


Participants will receive structured on-the-job training under the supervision of licensed electricians while completing required classroom instruction through the Company's approved apprenticeship provider. Qualifying work hours and demonstrated competencies will be tracked in accordance with applicable apprenticeship standards.


Advancement through the apprenticeship program is based on successful completion of required training, accumulation of on-the-job training hours, demonstrated technical proficiency, adherence to safety and quality standards, and overall job performance. Enrollment, participation, and progression within the program are subject to Company approval, business needs, and applicable apprenticeship requirements.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Apprentice Electrician License desired
  • Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record, preferably with CDL


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Prior electrical experience or technical school degree, desired
  • Experience in renewable energy is desired


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES

  • Physically able to lift and move objects 10-50 pounds
  • Standing/walking for long periods
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift or stretch
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
  • Climbing and descending stairs and ladders
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
  • Must be able to stand and work on your feet for at least 8 hours per day and excessive overtime as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work environment and physical demands are expected, as below:

  • Frequent travel to remote solar project sites.
  • Work performed outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical jobsite activities as needed.
  • Long and variable work hours based on project schedules and milestones.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel Required to muti-state region with extended overnight stays
  • Electricians required to have personal electrical tools on job sites
