Internship Pos Manager information

Are interns paid positions?

Internship positions, including those for internship program managers, can be paid or unpaid depending on the organization and local labor laws. Paid internships typically offer hourly wages or stipends, while unpaid internships may provide academic credit or experience. It is important to check the specific internship listing for compensation details.

Is an internship a position as an internship position manager?

An internship is a temporary position designed for students or entry-level individuals to gain work experience. An internship manager is a person responsible for overseeing internship programs, not a role within an internship itself. The two are distinct roles, with the manager typically coordinating and supervising interns rather than being an intern themselves.

Healthcare Sales & Account Management Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

POS Professional Office Services is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Sales & Account Management Intern to join our team in Waterloo, Iowa. This internship provides hands-on and meaningful experience supporting a national sales organization while working with healthcare practices across the country.

As an intern, you'll gain exposure to account management, healthcare sales, customer service, corporate marketing strategies, and business development. You'll work alongside experienced Account Managers and Sales Leaders to help strengthen client relationships, uncover new opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth of our organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Communications, or Business Management who are looking to gain real-world experience and build a foundation for their career.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research healthcare organizations and identify key decision-makers.
  • Assist with account reviews by gathering customer insights and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Support Account Managers with customer outreach through phone calls, email campaigns, and follow-up communications.
  • Help develop prospecting strategies and sales cadences for existing and prospective customers.
  • Assist in preparing customer presentations, proposals, and marketing materials.
  • Participate in customer meetings, sales training, and team strategy sessions.
  • Track sales activities, pipeline progress, and customer engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Graphic Design teams on customer initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experiences and internal sales processes.
  • Complete special projects that support business growth and sales initiatives.

Desired Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Marketing, Business Administration, Professional Sales, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Graphic Communications, or related field.
  • Strong interest in sales, relationship building, and customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable making phone calls and communicating with customers.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new technology.

What You'll Gain

This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience-not just observation. Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn consultative sales techniques used in the healthcare industry.
  • Gain experience using Salesforce, the industry's leading CRM platform.
  • Develop professional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Participate in customer account reviews and business development initiatives.
  • Learn how marketing, sales, customer service, and operations work together to serve healthcare organizations.
  • Build confidence presenting ideas and collaborating across departments.
  • Receive mentorship from experienced sales and business professionals.
  • Contribute to projects that make a measurable impact on the business.

Why POS?

From branded print solutions and patient education materials to digital communications, billing, and payment solutions, we help healthcare practices connect more effectively with their patients.

At POS, you'll experience a collaborative, team-oriented culture where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are welcomed, and interns are treated as valuable contributors-not just observers. Whether your goal is a career in sales, marketing, or overall business development, this internship will provide the experience, mentorship, and professional development to help you take the next step.
