An Internship Playwright is typically a student or early-career writer who works with a theater company or organization to gain experience in writing plays and scripts. They may assist in developing new works, participate in workshops, receive feedback from experienced playwrights, and sometimes see their work produced in readings or performances. The internship is designed to provide mentorship, industry exposure, and practical experience in the craft and business of playwriting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an internship playwright?

To thrive as an Internship Playwright, you need strong creative writing abilities, an understanding of dramatic structure, and a background in theater or literature—often supported by relevant coursework or experience. Job Description:
About the Role
We are looking for a Cloud Firewall Test Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and security of a cloud-delivered firewall platform built on microservices. You will design and execute tests across UI, API, integration, and system levels, with a strong focus on automation using Playwright with Python. You'll also use AI-assisted testing tools to speed up test creation, debugging, and coverage expansion-while applying good engineering judgment to keep tests correct and maintainable.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated end-to-end and API test suites using Playwright with Python, focusing on reliability and maintainability.
  • Validate cloud firewall capabilities such as policy management, rule behavior, logging/telemetry, authentication flows, control-plane workflows, and upgrades in a microservices environment.
  • Build layered coverage across microservices (service-level API tests + critical end-to-end user journeys) to reduce flaky tests and improve signal.
  • Integrate test suites into the build and release pipeline (CI/CD), including parallel runs, reporting, and failure artifacts (logs, traces, screenshots).
  • Work closely with software engineers and product owners to review stories and acceptance criteria, improve testability, and define quality gates
  • Troubleshoot complex failures using logs/metrics/traces, drive root-cause analysis, and help prevent regressions.
  • Use AI-based tools to accelerate test development and triage (for example: generating starter test code, refactoring, summarizing failures, creating test data), while keeping quality and correctness high.
  • Contribute to test infrastructure improvements (environments, test data management, mocks/stubs, framework utilities).

Required Qualifications
6 to 8 years in QA/Test Engineering, SDET, or Software Engineering with a strong testing focus (we're open to strong entry-level candidates with solid projects/internships).
  • Strong hands-on Python skills for building automation (beyond simple scripting).
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation, including maintainable patterns (page objects/fixtures) and stable locator strategies.
  • Experience testing web APIs (REST) and distributed systems; comfortable validating microservice interactions and contracts.
  • Basic to solid understanding of cloud networking/security concepts (for example: TCP/IP basics, authentication flows, and network policy behavior).
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and test reporting in a build pipeline.
  • Hands on experience in testing security and networking products is a must.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have
  • Prior experience testing firewalls, network security products, or cloud-managed firewall deployments.
  • Microservices testing practices such as contract testing, API-first validation, and test isolation strategies.
  • Exposure to performance, resilience, or scale testing for cloud services.
  • Experience with Selenium (especially if you've migrated or helped migrate suites to Playwright).
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools for test authoring/debugging (for example copilots, LLM-based triage helpers, AI log analysis).

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
  • You can run and debug the existing automation suite, and confidently contribute new Playwright + Python tests.
  • You add stable automated coverage for a few high-value end-to-end flows and key API scenarios.
  • You improve failure triage by producing clean artifacts (logs/traces/screenshots) and actionable root-cause notes.
