Job Summary
Join the Marsal Family School of Education, Office of Student Affairs, as a Student Programming Graduate Intern. The purpose of this role is to enhance the climate for Marsal students through supporting, organizing, designing, and co-facilitating programming.
  • Designing Student Programming: Help develop, refine, and implement events and initiatives that reflect Marsal values, especially learning with, in, and from a broad range of communities. Including designing and co-planning multicultural programming.
  • Evaluating Student Experiences: Support program evaluation by developing and administering assessment tools, such as surveys and interviews, to ensure our work meets the needs of all students.
  • Supporting Student Leaders: Co-lead meetings with the Marsal OSA Student Advisory Board (SAB) and collaborate with student org leaders to help drive student-led change and champion new ideas.
  • Communicating to Students: Assist in drafting accessible communications?emails, web content, reports, social media posts, and more?that connect with students and the wider community.
  • Creating Inclusive Experiences: Team up with Marsal and campus colleagues to manage event logistics (e.g., reserving rooms, organizing food, and prepping materials) that center on the specific needs of all students, creating accessible events that promote greater psychological safety, inclusion, and dignity.
  • Leading Meaningful Dialogues: Facilitate authentic conversations and dialogues that encourage reflection, learning, growth, and community-building through OSA programs and initiatives.
  • Amplifying Student Voices: Collaborate with students to co-create community resources that highlight inclusive practices and provide learning opportunities designed to support and celebrate the diverse identities, experiences, and needs of our community.
  • Researching Programming Opportunities and Resources: Research programming opportunities (including identifying workshop facilitators or building your own knowledge to facilitate a workshop) and identify resources that enhance the school climate.

Required Qualifications*
Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in a graduate program for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the challenges undergraduate and graduate students encounter related to a lack of inclusion, psychological safety, dignity, as well as the presence of bias, harassment, and discrimination.
  • Knowledge of current challenges and practices to advance student inclusion in higher education.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and provide thorough and reliable follow-through while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively and professionally within the Marsal School, the broader University community, and external constituents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently, as the task requires.
  • Experience with event planning and/or facilitation.
  • Demonstrated competency with programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides), Canva, and other similar technologies that will facilitate the execution of the tasks required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience serving in student organizations or involvement in affinity spaces.
  • Experience with facilitating workshops and dialogues.
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing bias-intervention techniques.
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility practices.
  • Knowledge of the historical and contemporary oppression of marginalized groups.
  • Knowledge of civil rights & social justice movements within the United States.
