Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are standout soft skills in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for accurately assisting clients, ensuring proper eyewear fitting, and contributing to a positive customer experience in a clinical setting.

They work under the supervision of licensed opticians or eye care professionals to gain hands-on experience in tasks such as fitting and dispensing eyeglasses, assisting with contact lens fittings, and providing customer service. The internship allows them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, develop technical skills, and understand the day-to-day responsibilities of an optician. Completing an internship is often a crucial step towards becoming a fully licensed optician.
