Job description

Operations Internship

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Operations intern will work closely with Operations team members in implementing one or more large scale projects to improve safety in both our commercial truck and personally assigned vehicle fleets in the US and Canada. This full-time internship will be a six-to-eight-week paid assignment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assist Operations staff in gathering internal information about our truck fleets that will aid in implementing telematics-based programs such as GPS-based routing and an electronic inspection process for our truck fleet
  • Help plan projects, including developing timelines, determining stakeholders and needed resources
  • Gather, interpret and present data for use in projects from internal sources
  • Develop lists of action items for implementation, and help to begin working through them with assistance from Operations employees
  • Provide updates to department management on progress for the projects

  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail that will help us in developing a project plan and implementing it across our organization

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be currently enrolled in a college or university with a course of study related to these projects. Courses of study may include but are not limited to:

  • Business
  • Supply Chain, Transportation and Logistics
  • Project Management

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time while frequently typing, viewing computer screens and use of mouse/keyboard.
  • Operation of office equipment to include but not limited to telephones, printers, copiers, and scanners.
  • Repetitive motion of data entry, hand, finger wrist motion and dexterity.
  • May include filing and handling paperwork may involve reaching, grasping, or bending.
  • Light lifting and carrying of office supplies, files, or boxes (generally under 25 lbs.).
  • Will require walking and standing during the office hours.
  • Good vision for reading and screen use.
  • Clear verbal communication and active listening, often over the phone or video calls.

  • Beachwood, OH
  • Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm ET. Currently, operating under a hybrid schedule with in-office days M-T-W and remote on Thursday and Friday. The hybrid schedule is subject
