Job Title: Ship Superintendent
Location: Norfolk, VA

NSC Staffing is hiring a Ship Superintendent to manage a portion of Navy surface ship repair packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipboard fulfillment and experience overseeing complex equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managed ship repair projects, including installation, modification, and repair in Engineering, Crew Berthing, and Combat Systems.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Resolve issues that arise during the project, collaborating with craft supervision, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct ship checks and attend meetings.
  • Assist in developing production schedules and manpower projections by interpreting work items and drawings.
  • Communicate milestones and target dates to craft supervision and subcontractors.
  • Assess production progress and report status to the Project Management Team.
  • Interface with other departments, including Estimating, Quality Assurance, Environmental, and Production Support.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with U.S. Navy ship repair and modernization contracts, including 3 years in a supervisory or project management role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade or armed forces schooling preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of shipboard work control and tag-out procedures.
  • Ability to utilize the Inspection Discrepancy Report (IDR) process to improve workflow.
