Job description

Location: Norfolk, VA (Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center and local contractor sites)

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET (including RD/NNPI access)

Employment Type: Full-time

Input Technology Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support surface ship maintenance and modernization activities at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC). This role ensures that ship repair work packages and associated deliverables meet strict U.S. Navy and NAVSEA quality standards.

What you’ll do

  • Review contract work specifications to ensure all quality requirements are clearly and correctly defined in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and NAVSEA Standard Items.

  • Develop and execute product and process surveillance, inspection, and audit plans; record results, maintain a quality database, and provide formal feedback to contractor quality organizations.

  • Build and maintain quality metrics, graphs, matrices, and written reports using Microsoft Office tools and U.S. Navy proprietary software.

  • Support handling of classified and sensitive information; receive, store, and transfer classified material and obtain access to Restricted Data and NNPI spaces and systems as required.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with coursework in quality engineering, systems engineering, or statistical applications; or 5+ years of practical experience in one of these areas in lieu of degree

  • At least 5 years of experience reviewing work specifications in accordance with JFMM 4E and NAVSEA Standard Items

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with U.S. Navy contract clauses, ship specifications, ANSI/ISO/ASQ and ISO 9001 quality system requirements, military and industrial standards, contract drawings, and shipbuilding practices

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with government and contractor stakeholders, and to work on-site aboard U.S. Navy ships in shipyard/industrial environments, using required PPE per OSHA and NAVSEA standards
