Program Guides gain valuable experience by training in several program areas, developing personal leadership skills, and creating a positive difference for local youth. This job may be tailored as an internship. It is your responsibility to determine if academic credit is available within your degree program and academic department.

This is a part-time, nonexempt position with a starting hourly wage of $17.50. Benefits include use of program equipment, free parking, great co-workers, flexible schedules and earned Sick and Safe Time.

Qualifications

  • Must be age 18 or older
  • Strong communication skills are required
  • Experience working directly with youth in the classroom, outdoor recreation sites, summer sites/youth camp, or other youth programs preferred
  • Experience working with diverse populations between ages of 7 to 21 is desired
  • Availability to work at other locations are preferred. 

At this time, we are currently seeking staff who have availability during week-day hours, evenings or weekends. 

Programs run most days of the year including weekends/evenings. You will work the number of hours based on personal availability and the number of Base Camp reservations. Staff are scheduled each week for the following 10 to 16 days based on their availability, making this role a very flexible opportunity. There is no minimum required hours per week. 

Base Camp is located at 6202 Bloomington Road in Fort Snelling, near the MSP airport. The Fort Snelling Light Rail station is 1/3 mile from campus and is an additional method of transportation.
