Job Summary:

The History Department at Saint Peter’s University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach undergraduate courses in either premodern history or modern world history.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach one or more sections of premodern history (e.g., ancient, medieval, or early modern) or modern world history courses per term

  • Develop syllabi, deliver lectures/discussions, and assess student learning in accordance with departmental standards

  • Be available to support student learning through virtual meetings or office hours

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades

Qualification Standards:

  • Master's degree (required) or Ph.D. (preferred) in History or a closely related discipline

  • Demonstrated content expertise in premodern history, modern world history, or both

  • Prior teaching experience at the college/university level preferred

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
