Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer - Nuclear to join our team in the United States.
In the nuclear sector, we are busier than ever. Our teams are developing firstofakind programs in fusion energy development, small and advanced modular reactor design, nuclear sustainability for waste processing and volume reduction, and transformation of the longterm storage landscape, to name just a few.

You will be part of our nuclear group, where we ensure worldclass project delivery through the skills of our people, methodologies, governance, and systems.

As a successful candidate, you will:
   Perform mechanical and piping engineering functions within multidisciplinary teams across nuclear and other sectors.
   Assist project teams in understanding project requirements related to scope, execution strategy, cost, and schedule.
   Ensure delivery of project requirements related to scope, cost, and schedule while following the Nuclear Quality Management System (NQMS).
   Support site field visits to obtain information and data in support of projects.
   Prepare, support, and review equipment identification and selection activities, including sizing, layout, technical specifications, and vendor information reviews.
   Prepare, support, and review piping system design activities, including hydraulic analysis, piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development, material specification development, stress analysis, and layout.
   Support the population of information and attributes into the datacentric project environment.
   Interface with vendors throughout the design and procurement process.
   Support direct interfaces with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
   Participate in HAZOP reviews.
   Assist in the resolution of engineering issues during the project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.
   Promote and maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of engineering work.
   Adhere to and promote the Hatch corporate safety culture.
   Support Hatch business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including the preparation of proposals and pursuit plans for the nuclear industry. 

You bring to the role:
   Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
   Approximately 7-10 years of engineering experience.
   Strong deliverable focus with the ability to plan your work effectively.
   Ability to learn and understand interdiscipline dependencies related to mechanical and piping engineering functions.
   Exposure to procurement, contracting, and commissioning methodologies.
   Experience working in pressurized water reactor (PWR) and boiling water reactor (BWR) plants.
   Experience working with advanced Generation IV reactors (HTGRs, sodiumcooled reactors, molten salt reactors, etc.) is desirable.
   Experience working within a nuclear quality management system (ASME NQA1).
   Sound knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the nuclear industry.
   Welldeveloped communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
   Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients, regulators, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
   Professional Engineer (PE) license or EngineerinTraining (EIT) status is preferred.
   Site experience in a technical role is preferred.
   Eligibility to work on exportcontrolled projects subject to 10 CFR 810.
   Ability to travel for short-term business trips domestically and internationally
