Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: 6–12 Months Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support design modification projects for nuclear power plants. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in developing and executing modification packages and a solid understanding of nuclear engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute design modification packages for mechanical systems and components in nuclear power plants
  • Lead and drive the engineering change and modification process from concept through implementation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and project teams to support design changes
  • Apply and follow engineering change control processes within nuclear utilities
  • Maintain adherence to Nuclear Quality Assurance (QA) standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • 7–10+ years of relevant experience in nuclear power plant engineering
  • Mandatory experience in commercial nuclear projects and design modification packages
  • Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations applicable to nuclear mechanical design
  • Experience with engineering change control processes in nuclear environments
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear QA standards
