Job description

LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work®-Certified company, is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent for the self-performance division of Matrix Building Systems in the Lafayette, LA area. The Superintendent will manage and control assigned project(s), including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, and trade contractor and supplier coordination, and will work closely with all members of the project team-all in an effort to minimize risk and maintain focus on LEMOINE's Foundations for Successful Execution.
Matrix Building Systems, a LEMOINE Company, is a fully integrated affiliate of LEMOINE specializing in self-performed wall and ceiling system services. From acoustical and linear wood ceilings to drywall, insulation, and specialty wall panels, Matrix delivers precise installation, consistent quality, and efficient coordination across every environment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Reviews plans, specifications, and Subtab sheets to fully understand project scope and generate RFIs when needed.
  • Supports Project Management with contract administration, procurement, subcontract awards, scheduling, costing, and overall project coordination.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with Trade Partners to support project success.
  • Performs quantity take-offs and assists with estimating various scope packages, including cold-formed metal framing and interior/exterior systems.
  • Provides detailed estimates and supports bid preparation for Sector Leader review.
  • Manages and inspects installation of interior scopes such as drywall systems, fire-rated assemblies, acoustical ceilings, doors/frames/hardware, and Division 10 specialties.
  • Oversees exterior system installations, including cold-formed metal framing, building envelope components, roof decking, and exterior cladding.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-10+ years of professional experience in field supervisory role for commercial general contractor or subcontractor.
  • Strong working knowledge of project planning and scheduling for construction trades (all disciplines).
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial construction practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software programs.
  • Proven skills in the areas of math as well as excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong reasoning and comprehension skills.

The physical and mental demands of this position must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
