Position Overview

South Eastern Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time, remote position allows you to provide essential mental health support to clients who are receiving care at our hospice center. In this role, you will be instrumental in conducting assessments, formulating treatment plans, and facilitating both individual and group therapeutic interventions. This position is primarily remote, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions and support clients from the comfort of your own home. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document case histories from the initial consultation through to the completion of treatment.
  • Evaluate clientsโ€™ mental, emotional, and behavioral health, integrating various assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Develop customized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, taking into account their unique experiences and backgrounds.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches to foster healing and personal growth.
  • Monitor client progress rigorously, adjusting treatment plans as needed to reflect changes in their needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team of mental health specialists, including other counselors, doctors, nurses, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Follow up with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for clients requiring inpatient treatment.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery and proactively intervene to mitigate these challenges.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers in addressing mental health concerns related to their loved ones.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients served at our hospice center are facing end-of-life challenges, requiring sensitivity and specialized therapeutic interventions. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will focus on facilitating emotional expression, coping strategies, and mental resilience for individuals and their families grappling with grief, loss, and complex emotional health needs.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, ideally in a hospice or end-of-life care setting.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client information accurately.
  • An understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Keen familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Strong knowledge of prescribed medications and their psychological implications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, complemented by a strong capacity for interpersonal engagement.

Compensation and Benefits
