VCA California Veterinary Specialists Murrietais seeking veterinary interns for the year 2026-2027.

VCA California Veterinary Specialists (CVS) is a referral specialty and emergency practice hospital with 3 locations, one each in San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.

Within our hospitals, we have specialists in emergency, surgery, internal medicine, medical and radiation oncology, radiology, dentistry, and dermatology. We are also a teaching institution with active residency programs (ER/CC and surgery) and a popular rotating internship program. We take pride in our cohesive, collaborative work environment and look forward to adding another full time Emergency Veterinarianto grow with us.

Our Riverside County hospital is located in Murrieta, one of Southern California's fastest growing places thanks to a mild inland climate and its proximity to San Diego County.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the area's nearly 40 parks, including the 165 acre Cole Canyon Park, a nature preserve, and 46 acres Los Alamos Hills Sports Park. In addition, Murrieta is less than eight miles away from neighboring Temecula, which is home to more than 30 wineries.

The Internship is designed to provide an intensive one-year experience in management of small animal clinical cases under Staff DVM supervision. The training program will utilize Staff doctors of VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center and approved out rotations.

Provide clinical care in the role of a veterinarian, i.e. examine patients, order tests, make diagnoses, prescribe treatments, and communicate with clients and referring veterinarians, for patients presented to their assigned Service.

Participate in the clinical and tutorial instruction of extern students, including daily student rounds; and other duties as assigned

Participate in Journal club, attend all Hospital Rounds/Seminar sessions and other seminars which are requirements of the Intern's assigned Service.

Provide clinical care in the role of a veterinarian in the emergency duty schedule (evening, weekend and holiday duty on a rotating schedule) with other members of their assigned Service.
