Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: On Site - Smyrna, Georgia, United States

Salary: $60,000-$65,000

The Opportunity:

Join an established company in the manufacturing industry, where disciplined financial management supports efficient production, inventory accuracy, and continued business growth. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career accounting professional seeking hands-on exposure to cost accounting, manufacturing operations, and month-end close activities. Working closely with the Controller and cross-functional production and procurement teams, you will contribute to accurate reporting and informed business decisions.


Responsibilities:

  • Record and reconcile daily accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support inventory costing, cycle counts, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold calculations.
  • Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts while researching discrepancies.
  • Help maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation and responding to requests.
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams on cost-related questions and reporting.


Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of related accounting experience, including internships.
  • Foundational knowledge of cost accounting, financial accounting, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with AP/AR processing, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system such as NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to inventory costing, variance analysis, COGS calculations, or project cost tracking.
  • Progress toward CPA certification or placement on a CPA track.
  • Experience supporting sales tax filings, compliance reporting, or audit requests.
  • Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
